September 7, 2007 by sumardika
Inspired by this article, I will put some notes on English learning collected from various sources.
Today I learn about the different between adjectives ending with ‘-ed‘ and ‘-ing’ like ‘interesting’ and ‘interested’ from BBC sites.
-ing adjectives are used to describe things: ‘The lecture was boring.’
-ed adjectives are used to describe our feelings: ‘I felt very bored.’
More samples:
| -ed form | -ing form |
| annoyed | annoying |
| bored | boring |
| confused | confusing |
| embarrased | embarassing |
| surprised | surprising |
| worried | worrying |
| interested | interesting |
I’ve recently visit this web site for English learning references:
